Industrial Wastewater Operator use testing equipment, take samples, and make adjustments to water treatment systems to make water safe for discharge into municipal sewer systems in accordance with local, state, and federal permits and standards.

8)Initiate and administer corrective actions as required.

10)Ordering and receiving supplies and chemicals
11)Safe onsite handling and transferring of supplies and chemicals
12)Maintaining facilities in safe, neat, and orderly manner
13)Transferring fluids as required using transfer and sump pumps
14)Perform all required repair and maintenance on components including; diaphragm pumps, tanks, clarifiers, separators, agitators, dosing pumps, sludge transfer, oil skimmers, filters, flow meters, level sensors, sludge presses, centrifugal pumps, etc.
15)Make modifications and repairs to plumbing and piping systems
16)Collect samples for onsite and offsite analysis
17)Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
18)Perform testing and adjust chemistry to optimize process within specified limits
19)Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment associated with the receipt, storage, usage, treatment, removal, and shipment of chemicals and hazardous materials in the wastewater area
20)Operate aerial lifts, fork trucks, and floor scrubbers as required
21)Monitor and maintain good housekeeping following 5S standards and participate in 5S walks with leadership.
22)Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge and Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
•Understanding of related state and federal regulations
•Experience treating oily and metals waste water from casting, metals washing, or other similar processes
•Experience in industrial wastewater pretreatment facilities or significant relevant experience is required
•Able to read, understand and interpret technical chemical analysis and lab test results
•Ability to perform chemical calculations to processes (jar testing, titration, etc…)
•Forklift Certification Required
OTHER: Computers, Experience with basic Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
2 Years – Experience as an Industrial Wastewater Operator or similar relevant position

– MUST be computer proficient and comfortable using Microsoft Office and computer integrated equipment.
– MUST demonstrate mechanical ability, strong math skills, English reading and writing skills and disciplined precision in recording sampling and process data.
– MUST have a current, valid Driver’s License.
– MUST be able to lift and carry 30 pound bags.
– MUST be able to properly handle chemicals per MSDS sheets.
Must be available to work any shift.
