The primary job function of a Logistics Coordinator is to schedule shipments to support customer requirements and prepare shipping documents to correspond to the shipments, including Pick lists, Bills of Lading and ASNs as required.

• Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
• Understand and promote company philosophies

  • Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs
    • Support company initiatives concerning 5S and Lean Manufacturing
    • First point of contact with the customer regarding delivery schedules, window times and stock on hand at the customer
    • Use ERP System (CMS) as the Primary means of monitoring customer requirements as they relate to shipping schedules to protect the customer from any potential part shortages or production downtime related to material availability
    • Monitoring stock levels and material availability within the plant to ensure loading can be done with minimal interruption
    • Monitoring stock levels at the customers to protect against material shortages caused by incorrect customer orders
    • Monitoring all applicable customer portals for any information affecting company
    • Prepare all necessary shipping schedules and pick lists based on customer requirements and delivery destination
    • Validate the completion of all loads due based on customer releases, JITs and RANs
    • Communicate and provide loading and shipping direction to dock personnel and company leadership to ensure timely departure of shipments
    • Validate completeness, accuracy and delivery receipt of ASNs to the customer as required per the customer specifications
    • Maintain visual shipment board and communicate critical load information to the appropriate transportation groups
    • Create/Maintain reports related to shipping performance and trends, as required
    • Setting up transportation for non-standard loads to customers and suppliers
    • Ensure continual material flow into all required locations
    • Work closely with quality (including dock auditors, Quality Engineers, Liaisons and Ultrasonic testing) to manage quality alerts, trailer pull backs, sort and inspection timing to ensure uninterrupted part supply
    • Analyze schedule requirements and propose solutions when schedule changes are required to meet customer shipping schedules
    • Clearly communicate all deviations, short shipments or late departures that occur during the shift and the reasons for the changes to support carrying the solution forward to the next shift
    • Create process flow diagrams and work instructions as they relate to projects assigned
    • Provide shipping pattern data to Materials team to promote lean inventory levels on all WIP and/or Finished Goods material in accordance to process capabilities
    • Communicate as needed with customers, suppliers and transportation companies to ensure on hand availability of parts and prevent down time
    • Accomplish all work assignments as directed by management personnel
    • Promote good housekeeping (5S)
    • Perform other duties as required
  • Must be available to work all shifts
