Production Welder

Overall Responsibility
Uses mig welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize
production. Fitting and welding parts using information from production drawings and shop travelers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for making welds to meet specifications on prints
Responsible for producing strong penetrated welds the are smooth, non-porous, and consistant.
Responsible for setting welding machine to proper voltage and wire speed for material being
Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly
Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly and tools and machines well maintained.
Skills and Attributes
Knowledge of welding processes and equipment
Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead with a good penetration and a quality weld
Ability to operate acetylene torches
Math skills including metric system and angles
Ability to read tape measures and angle finders
Ability to read blueprint drawings and AWS weld symbols
Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes
Physical ability to weld in awkward positions such as kneeling or lying down
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work from a ladder

Experience Requirements
Vocational school training or three years welding experience in related field

$16-17 per hour. 2nd shift position
