Position: Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Our client is looking for a high caliber candidate to join their fast paced organization as a Quality Engineer. This candidate will have 3+ years’experience in Quality, with exceptional root cause analysis skills and team leading and people skills. Experience working with or for Honda a huge plus. The Quality Engineer will be experienced in one or more aspects of quality:

 Systems Quality (Metrology/calibration, ISO administration, IATF 16949, PPAP’s, CCC, APQP, Risk based thinking/FMEA),

 Internal Cost of Quality (Root Cause analysis tools, Cell and Process control plan development and maintenance, QMS analysis and reporting, and product/process auditor supervision).

 External Quality (8D, lead multi functional corrective action development, warranty trend analysis, box audit/firewall control plan development and maintenance,

 Customer Quality (Direct interaction with customers and field team members, familiarity with Automotive O.E. systems and methods, Supplier Quality Control, 8D, PPAPs).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Systems Quality Engineer (S-QE) – Gage Calibration/R&R, PPAP management, 16949 / 9001 Administration, CCC certifications, Internal System Audit Mgt. Primary priority – 16949 certification and PPAP submissions.Internal Quality Engineer (I –QE) – Manage Process Audits, Report cost of quality metrics and gap closures, Administer cross-functional A3 CA’s , Verification of process change CA’s, Post 30 day audit of CA’s deployed, PFMEA team member,Process

Capabilities Primary priority – Process audits confirming processes are followed and confirming CA’s were sustained.External Quality Engineer (E-QE) – Manage internal containment, Administer cross-functional 8D CA’s, Report escapes toLevel 1 daily floor mtg., Perform supplier audits, Supplier CA’s mgt. Primary priority = Process 8D’s in timely and effective manner.Customer Quality Engineer (C-QE) – Point of Contact for customer SQE’s, Collect sufficient defect info to support CA and CP deployment, Manage Produce Audits, Report out customer PPM and 8D status scorecards, Manage external containment ,Customer system quality data input/extraction , Perform on-site customer audits., Manage on-site liaison resources.Primary priority = Customer Service.

Oversee the development and maintenance of control plans.

Developing, and overseeing layered process audits to confirm effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions,product/process changes released, and new team member qualification.

Assisting team members and team leaders in learning how to execute product and process changes and controlling high risk characteristics.

Consistently improve inspection effectiveness.

Develop training plans to improve the consistency of product audits across shifts.

Conduct internal ISO 9001:2015 audits.

 Able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including variable shifts and work days as needed.

 Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

 Possess good verbal and written communication

Credentials and Experience:

 C-QE – Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering.

 E-QE, S-QE, and I-QE – Bachelor degree in Engineering.

 Preferred – 3+ years in related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination) in a manufacturing environment

Special Requirements

 Authorization to work and reside in the United States

 Ability to obtain visa/passport for possible international travel

Physical Requirements

 Able to read and interpret text, schematics, blueprints or drawings

 Vision ability including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

 Normal hearing ability (with or without corrective device)

 Ability to differentiate between shades of colors

 Ability to operate forklift

 Ability to lift and carry items for short distances less than 10 pounds – regularly less than 50 pounds – occasionally greater than 50 pounds – infrequently

 Ability to bend, kneel, or climb steps/ladders

 Small motor skills including ability to grasp, control and use objects or tool

 Fine motor skills including manipulation of small objects

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
