Job Summary
Shipping Supervisor is responsible for controlling materials inventory accuracy and availability by coordinating the
movement of product including inbound shipments, internal materials movements, and outbound shipments. The
Shipping Supervisor ensures the accuracy of transactions. Motivates employees and utilizes resources to achieve
objectives while adhering to safety, quality, and operational efficiency requirements. The Shipping Supervisor
supports and communicates strategic objectives and initiatives of the company.
 Plans and coordinates the movement of inventory and product by training, management and motivation of
employees
o Direct reports include Inbound workers, Outbound workers and Forklift Driver positions in the
Shipping and Receiving areas.

 Ensures product availability in quantity and quality requirements
 Protects assets by supporting, communicating, monitoring and enforcing internal controls and procedures
 Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements
 Collects, interprets and reports data
 Works alongside direct reports, modeling effective work habits by leading by example
 Maintains a positive and optimistic outlook
 Effectively interacts with internal customers and external contacts including customers, suppliers, and
transportation workers
 This position reports directly to the Logistics/Production Coordinator, Borgers Ohio, Inc.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
 Proactively ensure the safety and well-being of employees, vendors and visitors.
 Objectively interpret, apply and/or enforce all company policies, programs, rules, regulations and safety rules
in support of achieving departmental, plant and corporate goals for safety, quality and productivity
 Develop, direct and manage the personnel engaged in the movement of products within the assigned
department and shift to maintain FIFO and meet customer requirements and expectations
 Kanban boards
 Plan, coordinate and audit inventory activities, including cycle counts, periodic inventories,
 Reconcile, adjust and maintain inventory database
 Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, warehouse
and/or quality system
 Effective cooperation with other members of the Borgers Ohio, Inc. team, including subordinates, peers or
managers.
 Lead employees in continuous improvement activities
 Identify risk and escalate contingency planning
 Communicate effectively with all levels of Borgers organization
 Other duties as assigned

 Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
 Possess good verbal and written communication
Credentials and Experience:
 HS Diploma or equivalent in education/experience
 5 years manufacturing supervisory experience in increasingly complex roles
 Warehouse inventory systems experience (SAP preferably)
 Experienced to expert level forklift driving ability
 Ability and desire to maintain the technical and managerial skills required to effectively administer and
oversee the warehouse process

 Authorization to work and reside in the United States
Physical Requirements
 Able to read and interpret text, schematics, blueprints or drawings
 20/20 vision (with or without corrective lenses)
 Normal hearing ability (with or without corrective device)
 Ability to differentiate colors, particularly red, green & yellow (normal color vision)
 Ability to operate forklift
 Ability to lift and carry items for short distances:
o less than 20 pounds – frequently
o less than 40 pounds – occasionally
o greater than 40 pounds – infrequently
 Ability to bend, kneel, or climb steps/ladders
 Small motor skills including ability to grasp, control and use objects or tool
 Fine motor skills including manipulation of small objects
